I have a question for those who have crossplayed at conventions or at sets before. How did you do it? Did you try and stay as close to the original character as possible, or did you add your own flare and flavor into it? I am doing my first crossplay at the end of the month, and I am making some creative changes, but my concern is that it will stray too much from the original subject matter.

What I usually do when I do crossplays is that I try to stay as close to the original character's design but add some "feminine" touches. For example, I'll sometimes give a male character longer hair, or tighter clothing but I'm still sticking with the character's original look. Get what I'm sayin?~

most of the ones I do are rather simple... I tend to do school uniforms as they are easy, pants instead of skirts and the like.  It's not laziness, just a lack of skill on my part...

I tend to go fairly femme. My Bane from the set "Ashes" for example. At most I'll go is androgynous, but never full male (binding, face hair makeup, etc).
